The towering Athletic Club striker stands an imposing 1.95m.( 6ft5in) tall and is nicknamed El Rey Leon (the lion king). Known primarily for his strength and outstanding aerial ability (one of Europe’s best headers of the ball), he also has good control and technical ability. The 27-year-old has scored 22 times in 34 competitive matches for los Leones this season and has been a key component in Athletic’s run to the Copa del Rey final. Llorente is a sure bet to secure a spot in Vicente Del Bosque’s team for this summer European Championships in June.
