EVERTON TO FIGHT ESPANYOL FOR AJAX STRIKER
- Updated: 23 January, 2012
Everton and Espanyol look set to fight it out for the signature of Moroccan international Mounir El Hamdaoui, according to reports from Italian agency Sport Mediaset.
Ajax striker Hamdaoui has hit 13 goals for the Dutch side this season and Everton boss David Moyes is reportedly keen to bring the 27-year-old to Goodison Park.
The Merseysiders face stiff competition from Catalan side Espanyol however, who have also been heavily linked with the former Tottenham Hotspur forward.
Espanyol are looking to strengthen their push for a European place in La Liga, while Everton have struggled for goals this season and are languishing in the bottom half of the Barclays Premier League.
