CELTIC CLOSE IN ON LA LIGA HIT MAN
- Updated: 28 January, 2012
Celtic target Jorge Molina has issued a come and get me call to Neil Lennon, according to media reports in Scotland.
The Glasgow giants have been linked with a move for the Real Betis striker and Molina said he is ‘honoured’ to be linked with Celtic.
“Every footballer in the world wants to play for Celtic. They are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and every year they are playing Champions League or Europa League.”
The 29-year-old forward has been in prolific form for the la liga side, scoring 46 times in just over two seasons however Betis are in financial difficulties and may be forced to cash-in on some of their players to easy a reported debt of €60 million.
Hoops manager Neil Lennon is said to be keen to bring Molina to Celtic Park before Tuesday’s transfer deadline but was candid on the subject yesterday: “I am no further down the line with any enquiries for players, if the window shuts and we go with the squad we have then fine.”
However, Molina reiterated that he was interested in a move to Glasgow and said: “I am honoured that my name has been linked with such as important club like Celtic.”
