- Updated: 24 January, 2012
Manchester City are in negotiations to bring former Barcelona director of football Aitor ‘Txiki’ Begiristain to the club, according to Spanish media reports today.
Mundo Deportivo claim the Premier League leaders are keen for Begiristain to take up the role of technical director at the Etihad Stadium.
The 48-year-old, who also played over 200 games for the Catalans, was linked to a similar role at Chelsea last year.
Spanish daily El Pais earlier reported that City were also in talks with former Barça vice-president Ferran Soriano, with a view to appointing him as CEO at Eastlands.
