CHELSEA AND UNITED IN FOR MUNIAIN?
- Updated: 22 January, 2012
Manchester United and Chelsea could be set to battle it out for Spanish wonder kid Iker Muniain according to reports in Spain today.
Sir Alex Ferguson and Andres Villas Boas are both said to be monitoring the 19-year-old’s progress at Athletic Club de Bilbao and may test the Basque club’s resolve with a multi-million pound offer for the player.
Muniain is the hottest young player in Spain at the moment and is widely predicted to become a world star.
Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa would be loath to see his brightest young star leave San Mames but may not be able to keep him at the club should a substantial offer be received.
United boss Ferguson has previously spoken of his wish to see talent such as Muniain at Old Trafford but both United and Chelsea would face huge competition for his signature.
