CHELSEA LINKED TO BARCA STAR PIQUE

Chelsea are set to offer out-of-sorts Barcelona defender Gerard Pique a chance to return to the Premier League, according to reports in England this morning.

Andres Villas-Boas is looking to re-vamp his Chelsea squad after their inconsistent season and the Portuguese coach has made Pique a key target, according to The Metro.

Pique has had an alarming drop in form this season and the newspaper claim Pep Guardiola could be ready to make some wholesale changes during the summer.

Pique could well be one of the big-name players to suffer in the wake of a frustrating la liga campaign for the Catalan giants which has seen them drop 13 points behind leaders Real Madrid, and is also said to to be interesting former club, Manchester United.

Chelsea meanwhile are sitting fifth in the Premier League, 17 points behind pace-setters Manchester City, and were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Championship side Birmingham City yesterday.
