HIGUAIN READY FOR CHELSEA SWITCH
- Updated: 3 February, 2012
Chelsea have been put on alert after reports emerged today that Real Madrid are willing to sell Gonzalo Higuain in the summer.
Andres Villas-Boas tried to bring the Argentine striker to Stamford Bridge during the transfer window, but had a €40 million offer rebuffed according to yesterday’s Marca.
However more reports have emerged today that the Spanish club are lining up an audacious bid for Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and will sell Higuain to Chelsea to raise funds according to the Daily Mail.
Chelsea have been in inconsistent form this season in the Premier League and the continuing poor form of £50 million-man Fernando Torres is a major worry for the London club.
Spanish daily, Marca reported that Chelsea made a last-minute approach for Higuain which was turned down by Real Madrid however as Jose Mourinho sees the player as an important member of his squad this season.
