LIVERPOOL CLOSE IN ON GERMAN STAR
- Updated: 20 February, 2012
Liverpool could be closing in on the signature of Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, if Italian media reports are to be believed.
Kenny Dalglish wants the German international at Anfield and TuttoMercato now claim the player’s relationship with his Spanish club has further deteriorated, leaving the way open for Liverpool to make their move for the player.
Khedira has failed to settle at the Bernabeu since arriving from Stuttgart almost two years ago and was benched for Madrid’s victory over Racing Santander at the weekend, leading to claims that the Spanish club have decided let him go in the summer.
Speculation also mounted this week when the 24-year-old’s’s girlfriend, Lena Gerke claimed the player will be playing in England next year.
Dalglish has long admired Khedira and a move to Liverpool is said to appeal to the player.
