LIVERPOOL PLOTTING BARCELONA RAID
- Updated: 15 February, 2012
Liverpool could be ready to make a move for Barcelona’s Ibrahim Afellay according to reports from Spain today.
The Anfield club were closely linked with the Dutch international before he joined the Catalans and Spanish website, NuevoFutbol claim Kenny Dalglish is again interested in trying to bring Afellay to Liverpool during the summer.
The 25-year-old arrived at Barcelona for a reported €3 million last January but has only managed 17 games and one goal in his injury-hit time at the club.
Afellay’s season was cut short as he suffered knee ligament damage in September which later required surgery, and the former PSV star has only recently resumed light running work in training.
Alberto Aquilani, Maxi Rodriguez and Dirk Kuyt have all been linked with summer exits from Liverpool and their sales could help free cash and squad space for an Afellay transfer.
