REAL MADRID STAR SET FOR OLD TRAFFORD?
- Updated: 25 February, 2012
Manchester United are set to make a summer move for Real Madrid’s Turkish international Nuri Sahin, according to Spanish media reports.
Sir Alex Ferguson is said to want Sahin at Old Trafford and has been put on alert after recent press reports suggested the 23-year-old was becoming increasingly frustrated at his lack of playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Marca suggested United would be in the driving seat for the player if he were to leave Jose Mourinho’s side and now Merca Futbol have also claimed the English side could be ready to make a summer move for the German-born midfielder.
United currently sit second in the Premier League but Ferguson was forced to talk veteran Paul Scholes out of retirement recently due to the lack of midfielders at Old Trafford, and the Scottish manager is desperate to bring some much-needed reinforcements to the club ahead of next season.
