SPURS WIN RACE FOR EDEN HAZARD
- Updated: 14 February, 2012
Tottenham Hotspur look to have won the race for Eden Hazard after reports in France claim the Belgian star has decided on a move to White Hart Lane.
Spurs have been among a host of top clubs who have tracked the Lille midfielder, with reports recently suggesting Real Madrid were favourites for the player’s signature.
The news will delight Tottenham officials and would be seen as a major coup for the club if true, as Hazard is one of the most sought-after players in world football.
Jose Mourinho has spoken of his desire bring Hazard to la liga and it was thought Madrid would be favourites for the transfer, however the Spanish league leaders look set to be disappointed by Hazard’s decision to move to England.
Spurs currently sit third in the Premier League and look set for another season in the Champions League, however the White Hart Lane future of boss Redkanpp is less certain after he was linked with a move to the vacant managerial role of the England national side this week.
