JUVE JOIN BARCA IN VAN PERSIE HUNT
- Updated: 2 February, 2012
The hunt for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has intensified with Juventus now showing interest in the Barcelona target, according to claims today.
Arsenal’s top scorer has made no secret of his frustration at the Emirates Stadium and is believed to have told Arsene Wenger that he wants to quit the club.
Reports earlier this week claimed van Persie was keen on a move to Barcelona to link up with his former Gunners team mate Cesc Fabregas, and Catalan daily SPORT suggested Barça were keen on bringing the Dutch international to Spain.
However reports on EL Gol Digital today suggest Serie A side Juventus are now showing an interest in the player and could be ready to offer €33 million for the 28-year-old.
Van Persie’s contract at Arsenal runs out in June 2013 and Wenger’s hand may be forced if the player decides his future lies away from the club.
