LA LIGA CLUB CLOSE IN ON CHELSEA STAR TORRES
- Updated: 7 March, 2012
Chelsea’s £50 million misfit Fernando Torres has again been linked with a summer move to big-spending la liga outfit, Malaga.
Torres has endured a torrid time at Stamford Bridge and has scored just five goals in 46 games for Chelsea since arriving in January last year.
The London club have experienced a frustrating season which culminated in the sacking of coach Andres Villas-Boas yesterday and Torres has been linked with a move for a number of months.
Spanish site Merca Futbol now claim the Spanish forward is wanted by Malaga who are currently pushing for a top four finish and are already looking for summer reinforcements ahead of a potential Champions League campaign next season.
It is believed the Andalucian side are willing to match the player’s current wage at Chelsea and are also confident of bringing the former-Liverpool hit man back to Spain.
Torres has also been linked with a move back to former club Atletico Madrid but the player has recently stated he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his Chelsea future.
