Liverpool ready shock move for Real Madrid winger
- Updated: 12 March, 2012
Liverpool are reported to be eyeing a shock move for Real Madrid winger Royston Drenthe, currently on loan at Merseyside rivals Everton.
The 24-year-old’s Real Madrid contract expires in June and it is clear the former Feyenoord star has no future under Jose Mourinho, spending last season on loan at Hercules before moving to Everton in August.
Drenthe has impressed at Goodison Park but it is unlikely David Moyes will be given the cash to make any deal permanent when the loan deal ends.
Liverpool have struggled for goals this season and Dalglish is now believed to have highlighted Drenthe as a player who could inject some much-needed creativity into the team.
