UNITED SCOUTS BACK IN MADRID TO WATCH SPANISH HITMAN
- Updated: 5 March, 2012
Manchester United scouts were in Madrid at the weekend to cast an eye over striker Michu according to Spanish radio station reports.
Sir Alex Ferguson has sent scouts to a number of Rayo Vallecano matches this year and representatives from Old Trafford were again in attendance at Vallecas on Saturday according to Cadena Ser, to watch Rayo come back from two goals down to beat Racing Santander 4-2.
Michu put in a man-of-the match performance for los Vallecanos, bagging two goals which took the 25-year-old’s tally to 13 for the season.
Recent reports suggest the former Celta Vigo man is also on the radar of Chelsea, however managerial developments in London today could end any interest from Stamford Bridge.
United closed the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City to two points today, after a 3-1 victory over Tottenham, and Ferguson is already looking ahead for summer reinforcements at Old Trafford.
