Rangers star set for Madrid switch?

Glasgow Rangers winger Sone Aluko could be on his way to la liga during the summer as the Daily Record report Rayo Vallecano have approached the club with a view to taking him to Spain.
Rangers boss Ally McCoist is desperate to keep the Nigerian at Ibrox next season but is powerless to stop the player leaving as his short-term contract expires at the end of the campaign.
Aluko arrived at the Gers in November last year, after being released by Aberdeen during the summer, and also had trials at Italian giants Jeventus before signing for Rangers.
Rayo are currently 12th in la liga but have experienced a worrying slump in form recently, following a promising start to the season. The Madrid-based side have last four of their last five league games and are not safe from relegation, despite sitting nine points above Zaragoza in the drop zone.
Reports suggest Espanyol are also interested in the 23-year-old, but Rayo have made the first approach with a club spokesman saying: “An official was in Glasgow holding contract talks with Aluko’s agent. We believe Aluko has all the qualities to play in La Liga.”
Rangers are currently in financial turmoil and have recently slipped into administration. However there are a number of suitors for the Ibrox club and the future of Scotland’s most successful club looks much more promising than it has in recent weeks.
