Chelsea midfielder eyed by Real Madrid
- Updated: 18 May, 2012
Chelsea midfielder Ramires is wanted by former coach Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid according to Catalan daily, SPORT.
The Brazilan international joined Chelsea from Portuguese side Benfica during the summer of 2010 and was an integral part of Roberto di Matteo’s squad at Stamford Bridge this season.
Chelsea play Bayern Munich in the Uefa Champions League final tomorrow, with Ramires puting in some impressive performances on the way to the Munich showpiece and this form has lead SPORT to suggest Mourinho wants to bring Ramires to the Bernabeu to partner former-Liverpool star Xabi Alonso in midfield.
It is claimed agent Jorge Mendes could play a influential role as intermediary in any deal for the 25-year-old who arrived in Europe from Cruzeiro in 2009; although Chelsea will not be looking to sell Ramires who is said to be settled in London.
Chelsea paid Benfica £22 million for Ramires and the report claims any deal for the player would need to be at least €35 million.
