David Silva
The native of the Canary Islands adjusted swimmingly from Valencia’s cash-strapped management, spending the first half of his Premier League season as arguably the finest playmaker in England. His form after Christmas left a little more to be desired, but the 26-year old finished on a stellar note as Manchester City won the league title.
Mostly acclimated to playing on the left wing or as an attacking midfielder, Silva is thrust onto the right wing by del Bosque, who is hoping Silva can cut in on that dangerous left foot and create opportunities. How he handles this assignment at a new position will be detrimental to Spain’s success.
