German full back Phillipp Lahm has refused to rule our the possibility of a move to the Spanish capital, even despite having four years remaining on his Bayern contract. (Marca)

Club President Floretino Perez and Jose Mourinho are both keen to sign Luka Modric, undeterred by a potential €35 million transfer fee and the player’s wage demands, which are expected to be around €5 million a year. (Marca)

The club seem less keen than expected to sign Brazilian full back Maicon from Inter, given that they were prepared to pay €35 million for him two years ago and he is now available for around €8 million. (AS)

However before any new signings can be made, there will need to be some players sold, as the squad is already at its maximum size of 25. Favourites to leave the Bernabeu first remain Hamit Altintop and Ricardo Carvalho, although Kaka, Lass, Gago and Canales are also very much available. (AS)

The club remain confident that the long running saga regarding the transfer of Jordi Alba will soon be over, but are considering Udinese left back Pablo Armero as a viable alternative should the deal fall through. (Sport)

Borussia Dortmund central defender Neven Subotic is another name which is very much on the Barca agenda, especially given that a transfer fee of around €15 million euros would make him a more appealing option than long time targets Thiago Silva and Javi Martinez. (Sport)

Sporting Lisbon youngsters Edgar Ie and Agostinho Ca would join Barca B for free, as the Portuguese club still owe money for the transfer of Jeffren last summer. However the duo have already been promised to Inter Milan, making their signings more complicated. (Sport)

Lionel Messi celebrates his 25th birthday tomorrow. To celebrate this upcoming milestone, he played in a charity match in Bogota, Colombia last night, a game in which Javier Mascherano, Jose Manuel Pinto and Dani Alves also featured. (various)
