Spurs plot move for Real Madrid star

Tottenham Hotspur want to bring Real Madrid’s highly rated midfielder Nuri Sahin to the Premier League according to reports in MARCA.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants the Turkish international at White Hart Lane as part of any deal to take Luka Modric to the Spanish champions – in addition it is also claimed he wants former Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho and £25 million for Modric.

The Spanish daily quote The National as a source for the story, but suggest Tottenham could face difficulties in completing any such deal.

Sahin has recently spoken of his desire to stay in Madrid and despite suffering a number of injuries since arriving from Borussia Dortmund last summer, Jose Mourinho is believed to see a future for the talented 23-year-old at the club.

Tottenham are yet to appoint a replacement for the recently departed Harry Redknapp, who left White Hart Lane this month despite guiding Spurs to a fourth placed finish in the Premier League, however Levy seems keen to continue highlighting new faces ahead of the new season.
