Barcelona and Real Madrid Transfer Talk

Real Madrid
Although Luka Modric is keen to join ‘los merengue’, Tottenham’s asking price of €50 million is considered prohibitively expensive, and Madrid’s Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin has refused to be included in a player plus cash deal. (AS)
The club have indicated that they will not sell Kaka for less than €25 million, a figure which has led former club AC Milan to rule out any possibility of signing him. (AS)
Manchester City have valued David Silva at €99 million, which would be a world record fee, a valuation which is aimed at dissuading at persuading Jose Mourinho from pursuing his number one transfer target. (various)
Jose Callejón has refuted suggestions that he may leave the Bernabeu this summer, with Valencia one of several clubs keen to acquire his services. (AS)
Lassana Diarra appears content to see out the final year of his contract and land a more lucrative move as a free agent next summer, having reportedly instructed his agent that he is not interested in negotiating a move to AC Milan. (AS)
Barcelona
Seydou Keita’s future will be resolved this week, with the midfielder keen to stay at the Camp Nou despite huge offers being made to him by clubs in Dubai, Russia and China. (various)
If Keita does leave, the club are considering a move for either Villarreal midfielder Bruno Soriano or Toulouse star Etienne Capoue, both of whom would be likely to cost around €12 million. (Mundo Deportivo)
Both Ibrahim Affelay and young central defender Andreu Fontás may be loaned out next season, although the former could yet be sold if an offer of around €10 million is received. (various)
However the club will not be selling David Villa to a French club who made an offer for his services last week, presumed to be Paris St Germain. Indeed they are considering strengthening their forward line with a move for Villarreal’s Brazilian striker Nilmar. (various)
Man of the moment Jordi Alba will be officially presented as a Barcelona player on Wednesday, after ‘los azulgrana’ agreed a fee of €14 million with Valencia. This move is likely to spell the end of Adriano’s Barcelona career, with Bayern Munich and Juventus keen to sign him. (Mundo Deportivo)
