Liverpool eye highly-rated La Liga winger
- Updated: 13 July, 2012
Liverpool are again said to be eyeing highly-rated winger Cristian Tello as Catalan daily SPORT report contract talks stall between the player and Barcelona.
Tello was linked with Liverpool in February by British newspaper the Mail Online who also reported last month that the Merseyside club had been quoted a price of £7million to take the youngster to Anfield.
Barcelona are said to still consider Tello a member of the B team squad and are reluctant to give him improved terms on a contract that still has 12 months yet to run.
The Barcelona-based sports newspaper website claim Liverpool are monitoring the situation at the Camp Nou, although there is little hope of any agreement before the 20-year-old arrives in London next week ahead of Spain’s participation in the Olympic football tournament.
Atletico Madrid and Real Betis are also rumoured to be interested in the winger.
Liverpool meanwhile will begin their 2012 summer tour of North America next week as new coach Brendan Rodgers prepares for his first season in the Anfield hotseat.
