Manchester United are eyeing a move for Real Madrid midfield star Nuri Sahin according to reports on Goal.com.
United are said to be getting increasingly frustrated with their efforts to bring Brazilian Lucas Moura to Old Trafford, and will instead turn their attention to the 23-year-old Turkish international.
The pursuit of Lucas has seen little progress with the player’s club Sao Paulo quoting United €38.3m for their highly-rated midfielder.
It is claimed Sahin is seen as a cheaper alternative for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side and reports suggest Madrid would be open to offers for the former Borussia Dortmund star.
Sahin arrived in the Spanish capital last summer, however he has struggled to replicate the form that made him one of the best talents in the Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich and Galatasaray have both been linked with possible bids, while Tottenham are also said to been showing interest in the player.
Ferguson has already dipped into the transfer market this summer as he brought Sahin’s former Borussia Dortmund teammate Shinji Kagawa to Old Trafford for a reported £17 million.
