Villas-Boas ready to add La Liga star to his Spurs revolution?
- Updated: 30 July, 2012
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move to bring Real Madrid defender Ricardo Carvalho to the English Premier League.
The Mail Online claim Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas could be ready to rekindle his interest in the 34-year-old as Tottenham look to replace the recently retired Ledley King at White Hart Lane.
Carvalho was omitted from Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid squad that travelled to the United States on Saturday, leading to speculation that the former Chelsea star is heading for the exit at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Portuguese coach named a number of youngsters in his 23 man squad that will play LA Galaxy, Santos, Milan and Glasgow Celtic, however Carvalho was conspicuous by his absence.
Spurs boss Villas-Boas, meanwhile, has a number of central defenders in his squad at White Hart Lane, however, with veteran Frenchman William Gallas also set to depart the club, Carvalho could offer an experienced addition.
