Arsenal eye January move for Barcelona target

Arsenal could be set to make a move for reported Barcelona target Aymen Abdennour according to British radio station, TalkSPORT.

The Gunners have been tracking the Toulouse defender for almost a year and Arsenal scouts were sent to watch Abdennout at the weekend – leading to suggestion that they could look to bring him to the Emirates Stadium in January.

Abdennour joined Toulouse from Etoile du Sahel last year after spending time on loan at German Werder Bremen, and is understood to have garnered interest from La Liga giants Barcelona and big-spending French outfit PSG.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has brought a number of players from France during his time in North London, and has earned an impressive reputation in nurturing young talent at the club.

Reports suggest Arsenal would have to pay around £5 million to secure the signature of the 23-year-old Tunisian international who is contracted to Toulouse until 2016.
