Tottenham look to La Liga for Bale replacement
- Updated: 28 February, 2013
Tottenham are lining up a summer move for highly rated Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale, according to AS.
With Bale’s sparkling form generating interest from both Real Madrid and Manchester City, Spurs boss Andre Villas Boas has been forced to draft a replacement list if the Welshmen does leave White Hart Lane this summer.
And having impressed at Sociedad this season, French U21 international Griezmann is reportedly their number one target.
Having arrived in Spain at the age of 14, Griezmann has made over 120 La Liga appearances for the Basque outfit and with five goals in 22 appearances this term, has played a pivotal role in Sociedad sitting in the dizzy heights of sixth place.
And with Bale set to command a figure in excess of £50m, the rumored £8m that Griezmann would cost, would leave Villas Boas with plenty of excess funds to rebuild his team.
