Arsenal are lining up a move for Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas, according to reports by the Daily Star.
The Spanish international has fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu and was left out of the squad for the Champions League quarter final against Galatasary.
And with Arsene Wenger recently deciding to drop regular Wojciech Szczesny due to a series of errors, the Gunners could well be in the market for a new number one.
With the 31 year old contracted until 2015, it is expected that Casillas will cost in the region of the £17m mark and has also been linked with Manchester United and Liverpool.
The player who has won two Champions Leagues and five league titles with Real, hinted at a possible move in an interview earlier this week, saying “ I want the fans to remember me as a player who wore the Real shirt with pride.”
