Swans agree deal with Spanish midfielder
- Updated: 8 April, 2013
Swansea have agreed a pre contract agreement with Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 25 year olds deal expires at the end of the season, and Micheal Laudrup has swooped to bring the Spaniard to the Liberty Stadium on a three year deal.
The Capital One cup holders reportedly beat off late competition from West Bromwich Albion, and will join the club when the transfer window opens on the 1st of July.
A product of Real Betis’ youth system, the tough tackling midfielder is seen as the perfect foil for current midfielder Leon Britton as the club prepare for their first season in Europe since 1991.
According to the Daily Mirror, no official announcement will be made until May, with Betis still attempting to secure a Europa League finish themselves.
Last weekend’s 5-1 victory over Granada has seen them just past Valencia into sixth place.
