SPURS MIDFIELDER SET FOR LA LIGA SWITCH?
- Updated: 20 February, 2012
Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani dos Santos could finally see an end to his English nightmare in the summer, after Spanish media reports link him with a switch to la liga outfit Espanyol.
Harry Redknapp has made it clear the Mexican does not have a future at Spurs and the 22-year-old is desperate to leave White Hart Lane at the end of the season.
Heavily linked with a switch to Villarreal during the January transfer window, a deal for the player fell through after the Spanish side refused to meet Tottenham’s valuation.
Espanyol’s coach Mauricio Pochettino has targeted an attacking player as his number one transfer priority and now Spanish site Récord.com claim dos Santos is man the Argentine wants.
Tottenham meanwhile may have to lower their asking price for a player that arrived at White Hart Lane from Barcelona for €6 million in the summer of 2008.
