UNITED TARGET TRACKED BY SERIE A GIANTS
- Updated: 23 February, 2012
Manchester United target Javi Garcia is on the radar of Italian giants Milan according to reports in Portugal.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with a move for the former Real Madrid man and recent reports suggested United were in the driving seat to bring the player to Old Trafford during the summer.
However Portuguese sports daily, A Bola now claim Milan are prepared to match United in any offer for the 25-year-old midfielder who is valued at around €20 million.
Garcia moved to Benfica in the summer of 2009 and has played almost 70 games for the Lisbon club, scoring five goals.
Ferguson is already making plans to strengthen the United squad and reports claim Old Trafford officials have already approached Benfica with a view to making Garcia one of their first signings.
