CHELSEA LINE UP BRAZIL STAR ALVES
- Updated: 29 February, 2012
Chelsea are tracking Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Alves according to web reports today.
Andre Villas-Boas has highlighted the Valencia stopper as the man to cover Petr Cech at Stamford Bridge and website FootballFriends.com claim the Chelsea boss is ready to make a move for the 26-year-old during the summer.
Alves joined Valencia from Almeria last year after spending almost four seasons at the Andalucian club, however the former Atletico Mineiro keeper is rumoured to be unhappy with his role at the Mestalla and may be looking to move.
Valencia boss Unai Emery has alternated Alves with Vicente Guaita this season and the Brazilian has only started 11 la liga games since arriving in June.
Chelsea are also considering bringing Thibaut Courtois back to Stamford Bridge at the end of his Atletico Madrid loan-spell, although it is likely the talented Belgian will spend another loan season elsewhere.
