LA LIGA FULLBACK ‘FLATTERED’ BY MAN UNITED LINK
- Updated: 2 March, 2012
Reported Manchester United target, Roberto Román Triguero, has told Spanish newspaper AS he is ‘flattered’ to be linked with the English Premier League champions.
Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be tracking the Rayo Vallecano fullback, better known as ‘Tito’ and reports yesterday claimed Ferguson sent Old Trafford scouts to Vallecas to watch Rayo lose 1-0 to league leaders Real Madrid on Sunday.
Speaking to AS, the 26-year-old said: “I am flattered to be linked to a club like Manchester United and I know Martin Ferguson was at Vallecas on Sunday because I was told in the dressing room.
“I don’t know if the interest will result in a move – if it does, I will be delighted. If not, I am happy here at Rayo.
“It’s the result of the hard work put in by the whole team and the good season we are having.”
Reports also claim United officials were monitoring Rayo’s Guinean international, Lass Bangoura
