Talks regarding the signing of Luka Modric continue, with Tottenham apparently happy to accept a fee of €25 million plus Nuri Sahin. (various)

Benfica are keen to sign youngster Jese Rodriguez, who played a starring role in RM Castilla’s promotion to the Segunda División last season. (Marca)

Former Madrid defender Michel Salgado has suggested that the club should look no further than that same reserve side in their search for a right back, suggesting that Dani Carvajal has all the attributes to make the step up to the first team. (Marca)

The latest name to be mentioned in the search for a new centre back is Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci, who would cost around €10 million. (Mundo Deportivo)

French champions Lille have offered €7 million for Dutch midfielder Ibrahim Affelay, although he has indicated that he would like to stay in the Catalan capital. (various)
